I had a problem today setting up wireless trainer on a couple of transmitters. A google search resulted in a helpful page that solved my problem. I have summarised it here so that I know what to do the next time.
Summary:
- When binding the Student transmitter seems to complete the binding process (beeping stops after a few seconds). The Master transmitter does not bind (continues beeping).
- The transmitters bind OK if the external module on the Master transmitter is switched off.
- Wireless trainer function not working. If I get a trainer connection at all, it drops after a second or two with a "Trainer connection lost" voice message.
Transmitter 1 (Master)
- Radiomaster TX16S Pro Max
- EdgeTX 2.8.4
- Internal multi - I use DSM_RX but the issue happens with any RX protocol.
- External - Namimno 2.4GHz ELRS JR TX Pro Module (ELRS 3.2.1)
- Packet rate 500MHz
Transmitter 2 (Student)
- Jumper T16 Pro Hall
- EdgeTX 2.8.4
- Internal multi - DSM
- External- off
The problem occurs if the ELRS packet rates are over 250Hz. Setting the packet rate to 250Hz or below solves the problem.
